You may get a prompt
to allow an active X script to run. It's for the embedded videos.
If you want to see any of them you have to allow the script. If
you click on any video after it is playing, it will pause. A side
note, the player and video are hosted on my site now so there
is no spyware.
Should you want to
contact me via e-mail, there will never be a link on here for
my e-mail due to spammers. But, if you can figure this out, you
will have my address: cliff@here (peek at the top image in case
you do not know where "here" is.)

These stories evolved
from e-mails I sent to lots of friends, due to my distance from
them while here at the Great Maya Reef, into this web site. Understand,
this is merely a labor of love which eventually aquired an audience
of thousands around the world. Here, I intend to index links to
the republishing of all of my old stories I still have, after
the great computer crash, in chronological order. Enjoy!

This is much more difficult and time consuming than I had planned. I will continue with the older ones I still have as I have both time and electricity (both in short suply right now.)
I changed Portillas.com's home page concept to include all stories on one page for a year, mas o menos. This was to aid in the more rapid loading of the pages and to ease the task of producing the archives for access here. As a result, instead of having to build a new page for each story (Most of which I have to extrapolate due to a viral attack on my computer in 2007 which left garbaged characters instead of words in most of my files I was able to recover) I only have to rename the index page to archive an entire year's ramblings. Please find below, a link to the year 2009 which includes the last part of 2008 through early November 2009.

A Special Note: While the following links
are the best I have found, they are commercial sites outside my
domain. Some do put spyware on your computer. It is how they are
paid for what they do. As a rule, it is generally harmless but,
those who are concerned should do a scan after visiting. Search
for AdAware from Lavasoft on the internet, it is free.
